Your Body ~ In Harmony is how nature intended it to be. Regular massage can maintain that harmony by using various massage techniques and modalities.
Easing the stress in people's lives and helping them feel better is something I have always been interested in. I have been in the health related field for over 15 years, working in a chiropractic and dental office, as well as a medical and dental insurance company. I also have 10 years experience in the environmental field dealing with toxic and non-toxic substances. As a graduate of Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York, along with my employment with a popular local health food store, I bring an integrative blend of knowledge to my massage practice.
The education and training I gained at Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage includes the traditional Swedish Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue, Connective Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Recovery Massage, Muscle Energy Techniques, Chair Massage and Shiatsu (acupressure points). My education includes Anatomy and Physiology, Myology (the study of muscles), Pathology (the study of diseases), and Energy work. What I liked best about my experience at OSTM was the student clinic which provides the public with the ability to receive massages at a reduced rate, while allowing students to practice their skills to gain experience and additional knowledge. Using my knowledge of advanced massage techniques, I am able to customize the individual treatment needs of my clients whether it is relaxation, stress relief, therapeutic or injury treatment. My education, experience and continued research has helped me to educate my clients on the how the muscles work, why they become injured or painful and what they can do to prevent pain and injury.
I have been licensed by the state of New York since March 2005, am a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals, as well as Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage's Alumni Association.
